An excerpt from “The Heavenly Home; When Shall I Prepare For My Own House Also?” By Pastor Olurinmade Solomon
Apart from the fear of ending one’s life’s journey inside the lake of fire, the hope of having a place of abode in the beautiful heavenly cities has kept many Christian believers of all ages on track in this turbulent and erratic world.
Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 15:19 says, “If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.” This means that if there is no hope of spending eternity in heaven after this world, it would be worthless to be a Christian.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,” 1 Peter 1:3
“But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.” Hebrews 11:16
One of the unique things about the Christian faith is Christ’s promise to go and prepare a place in heaven for His disciples and return to receive them to where He has prepared for them. No other religious founder has ever made such a glorious promise to their followers; in fact, none of them know where they will spend eternity. While some people believe that there is nothing called heaven or life after death, others believe in reincarnation and a world without end. The teachings of some who claimed to believe there is heaven and life after death also contradict the teachings of Jesus Christ, hence, the need for the expository messages of this book.
“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” John 14:1-3
As great and glorious as this hope of a heavenly home is, many Christians will be disappointed when they get to heaven and find out that they have no home prepared for them. Only then will they realize how ignorant they have been about their idea of the heavenly home.
This book, “The Heavenly Home; When Shall I Prepare For My Own House Also?“, written through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, will help ignorant Christian believers to correct the misconception of having a readymade home in heaven. It also will guide them about the roles they must play to secure homes for themselves in heaven.
